Grief, Loss and Bereavement

Grief is a powerful emotion that can be difficult to deal with. Feelings are often overwhelming and intense, touching other places of unmourned losses within us.

There is no one right way to grieve. There are no linear steps to follow.  But we do know something about grief.  It hurts – a lot more than you thought it would. It takes a lot of energy – sometimes up to 80% of your energy. Grief comes and goes, ebbing and flowing – sometimes catching us by surprise by powerful grief bursts. Ultimately we learn that ‘what we feel, we can heal.  Grief has much to teach us and we come out the other end different that who we were.
