Caring for Self While Caring for Others: Sustaining Compassion and Preventing Burnout with Self-Compassion Core Skills

April 22, 2017

$160 – $185

Providing care to those who are suffering or struggling is what we do. Exercise, yoga and eating well are some of the ways we may try to care for ourselves, when we can. But this can often feel like added pressure – and is impossible while on the job.

There is another way that increasing research is showing can help us prevent burnout, manage vicarious trauma and build resiliency – even in the midst of overwhelming situations.

This one day workshop will provide you with the science, research and practices of mindfulness and self-compassion. You will learn how to include yourself in your circle of compassion and cultivate sustainable compassion for yourself and others.

MINDFUL SELF-COMPASSION FOUNDATION TRAINING
You will learn about the research and science of  self-compassion,
using self-kindness as a motivator instead of self-criticism,
handling difficult emotions with greater ease,
managing compassion fatigue. preventing burnout
and teaching self-compassion to others.

This one day workshop will provide you with the science, research and practices behind Mindful Self-Compassion, an empirically-supported training program based on the pioneering research of Kristin Neff and the clinical perspective of Christopher Germer.

MSC teaches core principles and practices that enable you (and your clients) to respond to life’s difficult moments with kindness, care and understanding.

Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, reduced anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and satisfying personal relationships.

Self-compassion can be learned by anyone. It’s a skill that provides emotional strength and resilience, allowing us to admit our shortcomings, motivate ourselves with kindness, forgive ourselves when needed, relate wholeheartedly to others, and be more authentically ourselves.

Join us for an experiential skill building day.  You will leave with practices and tools that you can begin to use immediately to help you learn to include yourself in your circle of compassion, be kinder and more caring to yourself even in the midst of stress and suffering.

Price is $185.00 plus GST.
Early bird rate of $160 plus GST is available before March 31st, 2017
