While any of us cannot bring about world peace, reduce violence or poverty on our own. we can each expand our compassion footprint through our own personal daily acts of compassion. Small acts of kindness and compassion such as inviting an elderly neighbor to dinner regularly to volunteering on issues that are important all contribute to an expanded impact.
As compassion footprints expand, energy is created to create movements to work for systemic changes. Changes that can impact poverty, violence and peace.
For most of us, a good place to start is with ourselves. Practicing self-compassion and self-kindness expands our personal compassion footprint. As we become more compassionate with ourselves – more tolerant, kind and loving – we are more able to be compassionate with others.
We invite you to join us in the daily practice of Mindful Self-Compassion.
