Self-Compassion Practice for Grief – in-person, free through Nanaimo Hospice

Free, drop in, in-person Self-Compassion for Grief guided meditation and support through Nanaimo Community Hospice.

Description

Self-compassion is a powerful practice that helps us navigate life’s most difficult seasons, including loss, grief, and bereavement. During challenging times, many of us are hard on ourselves – either withdrawing from our own needs or pushing ourselves beyond what we can manage.

In these sessions we learn how to respond to ourselves with the same kindness, patience, and care we would naturally extend to someone we love.

In these guided experiential sessions with Victoria Pawlowski, Certified Mindful Self-Compassion Teacher, you will:

  • Learn practical self-compassion skills you can use in daily life.
  • Explore different themes such as mindfulness, self-kindness, and common humanity.
  • Practice guided self-compassion meditation.
  • Develop tools for calming self-criticism and building inner resilience.
  • Reflect and (if comfortable) share in a supportive group setting.

This class is designed to help you cultivate the ability to “have your own back,” even in the hardest of times.

What to bring: A journal for reflection.
Experience level: No prior meditation or self-compassion experience is required.

Space is limited to 12 participants.

Upcoming Dates: Friday February 27th, March 6th, 13th, 20th from 11:30-12:30 pm
